French Adventure: Boating on the Alsatian
Canals and Cooking in Provence
Dates by arrangement 17 DAYS FOR U.S. $5,590.00*
We will take the train from Paris to Boofzheim in northeastern France. Plan to arrive in Paris the night before.
(We can assist you with hotel reservations.) Our boat awaits us on the
Marne au Rhin Canal where we will spend the week exploring the rich region
of Alsace with your US Coast Guard Certified Skipper. Our boat is one
of the more luxurious private charter boats on the canal, with 5 cabins
and 3 heads (toilets). This region of the Rhine has some of the most picturesque
villages of France. You are welcome to line handle, assist in piloting
the boat or do nothing, bike or walk along the canal, or enjoy your favourite
book. This segment includes typical French breakfasts, picnic lunches,
or gourmet dinners daily. (Two meals are included each day.)
We will leave the boat in Hesse and take the train to Avignon where we
will pick up our 9-passenger van and drive to the heart of Provence. We
will spend the next week in a private country home in Gordes with cooking
classes each night. There will be daily visits to local festivals, villages,
wineries, and open-air markets. Experience antique markets, French chocolate,
art galleries and shop till you drop. (Breakfast and dinner included each
day.) On your last day we will drive to the Marseilles Airport for
you to catch a flight home or continue your travels.
*US$5,590 per person, airfare not included. Limited to a mini group of
7.
